A certificate is a doctor's statement about what they assessed. That means an appointment — in person, or by telehealth where that is clinically appropriate and you are eligible.
We cannot certify a day we did not see you. If you are unwell today and will need a certificate, book today rather than at the end of the week.
A certificate can cover time off to care for a family member. The person being cared for generally needs to have been assessed.
A certificate states that you were assessed and were unfit for work or study, and for how long. It does not have to state your diagnosis, and it cannot say something a doctor does not believe.
