Telehealth, for the right things.

Phone appointments for eligible patients who have seen one of our doctors in the past twelve months. Excellent for results, scripts and follow-ups. Not a substitute for being looked at.

Telehealth

Good for some things, wrong for others.

Telehealth is genuinely useful when the appointment is a conversation — going through results, a repeat script for something stable, a referral, a certificate, or checking in on how a new medicine is going. No parking to find, no waiting room, and often no time away from work.

It is the wrong tool when someone needs to look at you, listen to your chest, feel your abdomen, take your blood pressure or examine a lump. Booking a phone appointment for those things usually means two appointments instead of one.

Telehealth suits

  • Going through results that are not complicated.
  • A repeat prescription for something stable and recently reviewed.
  • A referral that does not need an examination.
  • Checking in after starting a new medicine.
  • A mental health follow-up, where that suits you better.
  • Straightforward advice where you are not sure whether to come in.

How it works here

Practical questions.

Can I book telehealth as a new patient?

Generally no. Medicare requires an existing relationship with the practice for most telehealth appointments, so your first appointment needs to be in person. After that, telehealth is available.

Will it be video or phone?

Usually phone, which is what most people prefer and what works most reliably. Tell reception if video would suit you better.

What if the doctor decides I need to come in?

It happens, and it is the right call when it happens. Reception will find you an appointment.

Can I get a medical certificate by phone?

Sometimes, where it is clinically appropriate. A certificate still requires an actual consultation and an honest assessment, and some situations need you to be seen.
