Home Services Same-day appointments

When it cannot wait until next week.

We hold same-day GP appointments at our West Gosford clinic every day for fevers, injuries, infections and the things that get worse rather than better. Ring us and say what it is — reception will work out how urgently you need to be seen.

Open Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm. No referral needed to see a GP.

Medicare Bulk Billing Practice

We are a Medicare Bulk Billing Practice. Standard consultations are bulk billed for eligible patients with a valid Medicare card.

What it covers

What counts as same-day.

If in doubt, ring. Reception would much rather you asked.

Always faster

Ring rather than book online

Ring rather than book online

The online booking system shows you what is left. Reception can see the whole day, including slots held back for urgent things. If it is urgent, ring.

It matters

Say what it is

Say what it is

Reception are not being nosy. “Chest pain” and “a script” get handled very differently, and they cannot triage what they do not know.

Priority

Children

Children

Any fever in a baby under three months, breathing that looks like hard work, a rash that does not fade when pressed, or a child who is floppy or hard to wake — ring immediately.

Do not wait

Questions

Same-day appointments questions.

Can I get a same-day appointment?

Often, yes. Ring reception rather than booking online and tell them what it is about — they can see slots held for urgent things that the online system does not show.

Why does reception ask what it is for?

So they can work out how urgently you need to be seen. It is triage, not curiosity, and it is how urgent things get brought forward.

What should I do outside opening hours?

In an emergency, call 000. Otherwise Healthdirect is on 1800 022 222, or Gosford Hospital is at 75 Holden Street, Gosford.

My child is unwell. What do I do?

Ring us and describe what is happening. Any fever in a baby under three months, laboured breathing, a non-fading rash, or a child who is floppy or hard to wake should be assessed immediately.

Is a same-day appointment bulk billed?

Yes, on the same basis as any other consultation — Medicare-eligible consultations are bulk billed with a valid Medicare card.

This page is general information for people in the Gosford and Central Coast area. It is not advice about your situation and it does not replace a consultation. If you are worried about a symptom, book an appointment or call us on (02) 4311 3800. In an emergency, call 000.
